DWG Infraco provides soil or ground stabilisation products and services that restore the ground’s integrity to clients across the UK. With our high-quality products and trained personnel, DWG provide solutions to subsidence issues and soil improvement in various infrastructures such as roads, commercial and private buildings, concrete slabs, embankments, rivers, canals and reservoirs.
Subsidence issues are a result of weakened grounds under infrastructures, which may have been initiated by the formations of the ground, compaction, and foundation. In some instances, the surrounding trees can extract or absorb water and moisture from the soils, which dries them out and cause shrinkage, destabilising the ground by loosening it and creating voids with the effect of groundwater and erosion.
Soil improvement methods have advanced over the last few decades from simple weight loading (surcharging), and vertical drains to deep soil mixing. Therefore, there is a shift from conventional methods, which are better suited to new builds and require open space (very high overhead) access and time, which is not cost-effective for existing infrastructure/facilities.
DWG use a range of Georesin and Bacel hard foams offering various predetermined strengths to meet the design needs, which provide a more accurate and durable result. The materials delivered create high compressive strength with good flowability, penetrating readily into voids between soil particles before curing. The expansion and compressive strength of the materials is a fully controlled process, depending on the foundation and ground type required, as all projects have different requirements.
Ground Stabilisation Systems
Using ground stabilisation systems to fill the microvoids in the soil results in dramatically improved soil bearing capacity immediately, allowing clients to re-open a repaired area quickly. Soon after clean-up and packing up to move out, the site is again ready for regular operation.
- No excavation
- Minimal disruption
- Minimal dust or mess
- Long-term material warranty available
- Commercial and private buildings
- Industrial facilities
- Infrastructure, airports, seaports, highways, rail
In dry post-expanded and granulated form, Bacel can be mixed with natural soils to increase aeration and water retention to improve horticultural conditions resulting in increased crop yields in greenhouse growing applications.
